Death Cab For Cutie are reuniting to record a new album now that the Postal Service has finished up their current run of reunion shows.
According to Rolling Stone, the band has reunited for a new album in a Seattle-area studio. Death Cab also announced plans to reissue their breakthrough album Transatlanticism to mark its 10th anny. The reissue is due October 29.
Over the summer, Death Cab fronter Ben Gibbard reunited with Postal Service bandmate Jimmy Tamborello for a run of shows on the 10th anniversary of their debut album Give Up.
However, a message on their official website published in August announced that the band's brief reunion had ended:
"Thanks to everyone who came and saw us this spring/summer. It meant the world to us. And with that, we are closed for business."
