Passion Pit played a series of DJ sets last weekend after their equipment was destroyed by nasty weather.
The band was set to headline the North Coast Music Festival in Chicago on Friday when the majority of their equipment was destroyed by a storm. The band explained in a statement:
"Our gear was completely annihilated by weather. 70mph winds blew tarps and covers off of our equipment, allowing enormous amounts of rain to destroy a large portion of what we now know, as of today, to be approximately 75% of our gear."
They added: "This is a nightmare we've had for quite some time. It's almost incredible that it hasn't happened already. Well, it happened, and now we're doing our best to recover."
They then went on to play DJ sets at their Chicago show, as well as at their scheduled Calgary and Edmonton appearances. They expect to have replacement and repaired equipment in place for a set tonight on The Late Show with David Letterman.
