Today, rock group Hinder announced that their lead singer, Austin Winkler would be leaving their current tour due to personal reasons. Winkler has had past battles with alcohol and drug addiction but the release didn’t mention anything specific as to why Winkler was leaving the tour. In a statement released by the other members of Hinder, the band said:

“We want to let you know Austin has decided to temporarily leave the tour for personal reasons. Our thoughts and prayers are with him in this time and we know that he will be just fine. HOWEVER, the band has decided, instead of canceling shows and leaving our die-hard fans hanging, we're going to keep the good times rolling on the road this summer. We have some guests filling in to help us out and promise you won't be disappointed! For those of you that have your tickets already, get ready for a great time! For those of you that don't, you won't want to miss out! “

Thanks again to our amazing fans for all your support. We can't wait to see you this summer…get ready for the party!”

Joining Hinder on the upcoming dates will be Jared Weeks from Saving Abel, and Marshal Dutton from Drankmore - who co-produced Hinder's latest album, Welcome to the Freakshow with Cody Hanson.

The statement said that this situation was temporary, however in similar situations in the past things have moved on from temporary to permanent over the course of a few months. It’s unclear if that’s happening here, but it could be in the works. Could Hinder be at the end of their run or will they continue on with a new lead singer? Both are possibilities, but for now we think Winkler will come back. If he doesn’t come back Marshal Dutton is probably the best candidate to be the new frontman of the band. Weeks is currently readying the release of a new EP with Saving Abel that’s slated to be released later this summer.
