Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd has opened up on his forthcoming new solo release and book. The singer is hard at work while the rest of his band is taking a break, and he jokes with Billboard that fans should expect immediate euphoria upon hearing the new tracks.

"It's awesome," Boyd says. "When you hear it, you'll probably be reminded of sailors riding unicorns and unicorns farting beautiful gift-making elves and things like that . rainbows, pots of gold - stuff like that."

He also is prepping a book to join the album: "It's an art book and it looks like the music sounds," he said.

Boyd also updated fans on his band mates' comings and goings:

"Chris Kilmore has been doing a lot of DJ gigs and has been making a name for himself doing so," Boyd said. "[Guitarist] Mike Einziger just scored an independent film that's coming out this week I think. [Bassist] Ben Kenney is making another solo record on the East Coast."
