Green Day have announced that they will headline the Reading and Leeds festival this August in the UK. The American Idiot trio will perform Friday, August 23rd in Reading and in Leeds on Saturday, August 24th. These will be Green Day's first UK shows since frontman Billie Joe Armstrong's return from rehab.
Also on the bill as headliners for the festivals are Biffy Clyro and Eminem. Supporting acts include System Of A Down, Bring Me The Horizon, Jake Bugg, Foals, Alt-J, Sub Focus, Deftones, Nine Inch Nails, Chase and Status, Brand New, the Lumineers, Editors, White Lies, Frank Turner and Skrillex.
Last year 87,000 fans congregated at Reading's Richfield Avenue site and 75,000 at Leeds' Bramham Park where they saw performances from headliners Foo Fighters, the Cure and Kasabian.
