The Strokes bassist Nikolai Fraiture says that the band has no plans to tour behind their new album Comedown Machine.

Although the band had declined all offers to speak to the media about their new music, a fan managed to convince Fraiture (via Twitter) to speak to BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe.

"I don't know. I would love to tour," Fraiture told Lowe, while admitting that the band had no plans to do so.

"It's kind of funny that new music doesn't feel as natural as it used to but for us, posting it when it is done feels like that is the way it should be done," he continued.

"When you make music you go up down, sometimes you feel strong and sometimes you feel scared."

Comedown Machine, the Strokes fifth studio album, will be released next month.
