The Virginmarys are gearing up for a big 2013 with the release of their album, King of Conflict. Since appearing at CMJ, the band has held a steady amount of attention from critics and fans. Classic Rock Magazine praised the band’s U.S. LP debut for “channeling Free, the Foo Fighters, and the ghost of Keith Moon. BBC has commended the band for “raw intoxicating rock & roll in the finest traditions of the genre.”
The Virginmarys have been kind enough to let us debut the lyric video for the lead single off of King of Conflict, “Dead Man’s Shoes”. Check it out below, and after you’re done watching, head over to Rollingstone.com and get a free download of an acoustic version of the band’s “Dressed to Kill" (download). Late last year when Ally Dicktay from VM talked to us, he talked about making the band’s new song.
“I’m really happy with it lyrically and it was actually one of the last songs to be written.,” said Dicktay. “It was an idea that we had and we were playing it to death. We kept changing different aspects of it but finally it all just came together in the end. And thank God too because it was an important track to me to have on the album; it’s little bit different than the other ones and I’m really pleased with the melody…it’s just an incredibly emotional song.”
The Virginmarys’ King of Conflict comes out on February 12th.
