The Black Keys will be releasing a new album in 2013, the follow-up to their 2011 release El Camino. Since the band is now done touring for El Camino, they are ready to get back in the studio to start recording new music.

"[The album] is definitely gonna happen in 2013. It's just a matter of how long it takes us to make the album and deciding when we want to get back on the road," said drummer Patrick Carney.

"We're going to start making a new album in January and we're going to tour a little more in the spring. Our plan is the have the new album done by the end of spring or earlier."

The new LP will mark the band's eighth studio effort.
