After leaving fans wondering about the future of Vertical Horizon, the band finally posted a message on their website, telling fans that the band is indeed still together, however they are no longer under contract with RCA records.
The band explained that they experienced some very good times with RCA, but the label is a much different place then when the band was first signed. The band released their major label debut, "Everything You Want" on RCA in 1999, and scored number one hits with their singles "Everything You Want" and "You're A God". They followed that up with last year's release "Go", which seemed destined for failure from the start, receiving very little promotion from a label going through major changes.
The changes have continued, BMG Music (who owns RCA Records) announced they will be merging with Sony Music. The merger was expected by industry experts, as BMG has struggled during the MP3 era.
Vertical Horizon plans on playing a number of shows this fall, before they head back to the studio next year.
