Airborne Toxic Event, who are currently busy recording their yet-to-be-titled third album, are taking a break to play a couple dates to help close out the old year and bring in the new one.

The first date is scheduled for December 31 at Chicago, Illinois' The Metro, and the second date is scheduled for January 15 at New York City's Webster Hall.

The band has another gig planned for later in the year (February 28) at the KOKO in London. Tickets for that gig are on sale now.

The Airborne Toxic Event's eponymous debut album hit back in 2008, reaching the number one spot on the US Heatseekers chart and number 35 on the UK Albums chart. Their second album managed to reach number 17 in the US, but just number 61 in the UK.
