Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong has been admitted into rehab for substance abuse following an onstage meltdown at a festival in Las Vegas over the weekend.

The rocker cut the band's performance short and erupted on the crowd after seeing teleprompters indicating that they were to cut their hit song "Basket Case" short:

"Give me a . . . break," Armstrong shouted. "One minute left. One minute . . . left. You're gonna give me . . . one minute? Look at that . . . sign right there. One minute. Let me . . . tell you something. Let me tell you something. I've been around since . . . 1980 . . . 8 and you're going to give me one . . . minute? You gotta be . . . kidding me . . . I'm not . . . Justin Bieber."

The expletive filled tirade culminated with Armstrong smashing his yellow Gibson guitar before the band stormed off stage. Reps for the band later revealed that Armstrong has entered rehab:

"Billie Joe is seeking treatment for substance abuse," read the statement. "We regretfully must postpone some of our upcoming promotional appearances."
