Green Day unveiled a handful of new songs during a secret performance at the Echoplex in Los Angeles on August 6. The rockers announced the gig the day before and fans began lining up at the venue as early as 5 a.m.

The show came as part of the promotional push behind their upcoming trio of albums ˇUNO! ˇDOS! ˇTRÉ!, the first of which is set for release in September. Video circulating the web shows the band playing a new tune called "Nuclear Family" which includes a heavy organ part. Other new offerings include "Kill the DJ" and "Wild One."

Speaking with Rolling Stone, Billie Joe Armstrong explained how the band is changing things up with the album set.

"We're changing the guitar sound," he said. "We're not going with the big Marshall amp thing. We wanted something punchier, more power pop . . . If you listen to it, it feels grand. But it also feels like a garage band."
