The Early November have announced an October headline tour. Beginning on October 5 in Danbury, CT, the tour will take in ten evenings in the Midwest and on the East coast of the U.S., including stops in Philadelphia, PA, on October 6, New York City on October 9, Cambridge, MA, on October 10 and Chicago, IL, on October 19. The Early November will be touring with special guests Cartel in support of its latest full-length album, In Currents, which was released by Rise Records on July 10.
"When we all sit around like old men, reminiscing about our favorite shows from the bands history, there's always one common thread: they we're always some of the smallest, sweatiest, most intimate shows of any given tour," said guitarist Joseph Marro. "It's how we saw our favorite bands growing up. I've had some of the most amazing nights of my life, packed into a church basement with 400 other kids going nuts for bands like Saves The Day or The Promise Ring. That was as big as bands got to us. So when The Early November started, that's where the bar was set. If the things that excited you 10 years ago are still exciting you now, then they must be something truly special. That's what this tour is all about."
Six years have passed since Hammonton, New Jersey's The Early November released what, at the time, appeared to be their final album, the conceptual and challenging three-disc offering The Mother, The Mechanic & The Path. Rejuvenated and reunited with its original lineup, the band is back with their Rise Records debut titled In Currents.
In Currents, an album recently given 4-out-of-5 stars by Alternative Press Magazine, is a body of work that strongly and positively represents the band's entire career, blending both the raw and youthful attitude of 2003's The Room's Too Cold with the ambitious, sonic experimentation of The Mother, The Mechanic & The Path. Frontman Ace Enders describes In Currents as "a journey through life's joys and struggles" and "being pulled in a direction you can't control ... like an ocean current or the flow of electricity." It's a scenario everyone in this world is in and can relate to. It's not about where those currents will eventually take you, it's about the journey you'll have and the experiences you'll take with you that matter the most.
