Blink-182 were forced to cancel a number of North American tour dates due to Travis Barker having to undergo emergency surgery.

The drummer has to have a tonsillectomy and his recovery time "is expected to extend beyond the scheduled tour dates."

While the band is planning to reschedule the canceled tour dates, right now no dates have been set.

A statement on the band's website reads: "The band apologises for any inconvenience as a result of these cancellations and thanks their fans for their ongoing support." The U.K. and Ireland tour, which is due to start in less than a month at Birmingham's NIA (June 7), will go on as planned.

Originally this tour was pushed back from July 2011, but the band needed more time to finish their latest record, Neighborhoods.
