The Black Keys have unveiled the release date and details of their upcoming new album in a spoof car sale ad.
The band produced a website called Wannabuyavan.com, in which How I Met Your Mother actor Bob Odenkirk stars as a used car salesman who tries to sell a used El Camino car. The featurette also includes a telephone number which, when called by viewers, plays a recorded message by the band. At the end of the video, a message appears onscreen noting "The Black Keys. El Camino. December 6."
El Camino is their follow-up to 2010's Brothers and features production from Danger Mouse (who worked with the band on their 2008 album Attack and Release), with the band citing The Clash and The Cramps as stylistic influences. Confirmed tracks for the release include "Lonely Boy" and "Little Black Submarine."
