Vertical Horizon announced via a newsletter sent out to fans this week that the band has begun work on a new album, following up to 2009's "Burning The Days."

"A slew of new songs are already written, and more are being developed for the next album," said the band in the newsletter.  "The project is really taking shape and we’re excited about what’s coming together."

Vertical Horizon is currently gearing up to play a show for the US Troops in the Middle East on the 4th of July.  The band also has planned tour dates this summer in California, Connecticut, Wisconsin, Illinois & Colorado, as well as a spot on the 2012 Rock Boat which is scheduled to leave port in March.

The band has made a demo available of one of the songs which is likely to be featured on the band's next album at their nimbitmusic page here.
