Jesse Young has released a new EP called Live.Love.Learn and the singer songwriter prepared it the way a lot of artists are raising money for albums these days- through creative channels on the internet. The website he found, he found out of necessity.

“I’d already done a couple of EPs. Four songs here, five songs there. The goal was to do a full album, because I’ve never done one on my own,” Young told Alternative Addiction. “I just had my first child in January so I knew that was coming and I didn’t have money to take away from that. So I used a site called kickstarter.com to raise money for it. “

Jesse’s Live.Love.Learn was his way of putting out something he’d be proud of. If by chance this was his last release, he wanted it to be his best. Turns out, it is.  A lot of that has to be credited with producer Zach Ziskin.

“I found a local producer who is pretty well-known in South Florida. He did a project for Hilary McCrae who ended up getting signed to the Starbucks label a couple of years ago,” explained Young. “He also produced Jon Secada and he won a Latin Grammy for another Latin artist he worked with. So he does really good work and he knows a lot of the same players that I know down here and I thought it would be a great fit.”

What Young and producer Zach Ziskin were able to do was surprising even to Young himself.

“I feel like this is the best thing I’ve ever done. All four of these songs are so strong it’s hard for me to choose a favorite,” says Young. “It changes every day. During the process of recording, my favorite song changed every time we did something new to one of the songs. “
