Nashville based band The Rust have announced they signed a major label deal with Universal/Lava, and have changed their name to Throwing Gravity.  The announcement, which was posted on the band's MySpace page, states that the band will be spending the next three months in the studio with Jon King, who produced their 2007 album The Anticipation, and Josh Abraham  who's known for his work with Velvet Revolver and Rev Theory.

The Rust/Throwing Gravity debuted on Alternative Addiction in May of 2009, with their song "Missing You."  which peaked at #2 on the Unsigned Top 10 Chart.  The band also was voted the #4 best unsigned band of 2009 by the readers of Alternative Addiction.

Throwing Gravity's major label debut is expected to be out in mid-2010.
