Grohl Says He Knew Cobain Would Die Young

Dave Grohl says, in retrospect, he isn't surprised that Kurt Cobain died young.

"There are some people that you meet in life that you just know that they are not going to live to be a 100 years old," he said in a recent interview with British radio, looking back on his time in Nirvana.

"In some ways, you kind of prepare yourself emotionally for that to be a reality . . . It was probably the worst thing that has happened to me in my life. I remember the day after that I woke up and I was heartbroken that he was gone."

Grohl's current project, Them Crooked Vultures, is set to release their self-titled debut album on November 17. The band plans to hit the road in support of the release on a tour which they have dubbed Deserve the Future.

November 21 - Seattle, WA - Paramount

November 22 - Portland, OR - Roseland Theater

Florida rock band Boyce Avenue announced yesterday that they signed a deal with Universal Records. The previously AA Unsigned favorite is scheduled to release their major label debut May 11.
