New Jersey native and creative force behind Kill The Alarm, Garen Gueyikian, is asking fans to donate money to help fund the recording of his new 5 song EP that he hopes to release in 2010. Gueyikian has created a page at kickstarter.com, a website designed to help assist bands in raising money to fund new releases. He has set a goal of $10,000 to be raised over the next 6 weeks.
"With your support, I will be able to record a 5-song EP with some of the newest songs I've written this year," Gueyikian said in a statement on the project's page. "In exchange for your ridiculously generous pledges, not only will you help me record these songs, you'll have exclusive access to updates & videos during the entire process as well as other prizes."
Prizes include digital copies of the EP to be recorded, as well as grand prizes like having Gueyikian play a personal concert or spending a day with him in the studio.
"While there are different levels of pledges, ALL OF YOU will be part of the success of this project and will help me bring this music to life," Gueyikian went on to say in the post. "If we can raise more than our initial goal, I can even afford record more [than five] songs, make them sound even more incredible, and maybe even go on tour!"
At press time, Gueyikian had already secured over 20% of the required funds, but only had 34 days remaining to reach his goal. Fans can make their donations starting with as little as $5 at kickstarter.com.
