Alex Band, former lead singer of The Calling, is set to release his long awaited full length debut album this November. The first single, a song called 'Tonight,' is expected out next month.
Formerly signed as an independent artist with Geffen, Band is now releasing his album independently in the US, although he has inked a major label eal internationally. "They are going to distribute the album everywhere but the United States," Band told Alternative Addiciton. "I am actually independent only in America."
For the release, Band has teamed with a charm bracelet company to help promote the release by making collectible charm bracelets to coincide with the release.
"There will be 12 different bracelets, and each one stands for a song," explained Band. "The cool thing is that each bracelet will have a scratch code that you can go online and download the song for free."
Band says fans will be able to collect multiple bracelets and gain access to extra songs, and other bonus content, even a phone call from Band himself. The unique promotion is aimed at the female audience whom Band has always had a strong following with.
Band released a self titled EP in 2008 that contains five songs, one of which is expected to be on Band's full length album. Fans can download the EP now for just $5.99 on Alternative Addiction.
