The new Tantric album, Mind Control hit shelves and digital retailers on August 4th. The album features the title track as a single and is already recognized as the hardest and the thickest Tantric album to come out yet. This album comes only a year removed from the bandís first album in four years ďThe End Begins.Ē Whatís the reasoning behind putting a record out so soon after releasing their last record?  Tantricís frontman and engine Hugo Ferreira put it simply, "I just feel that it was the best thing to do for our career."

"We had the material written. We didnít want to be off the radar. We were off the radar from 2004-2008 and we didnít want people to have to wait for us. Itís already a not a very loyal business, so if youíre not constantly at it you can be easily forgotten."

The band was hardly forgotten between 2004 and 2008. Even though Hugo had a completely different band and a fill-in drummer in Fuelís Kevin Miller, Tantric came back and sold records, drew crowds, and got new fans involved in the music that were already liking it before.  Lots of fans have been disgruntled by the bandís current lineup and how Hugo is the only remaining member from the original band, but the a big chunk of that fan base has been into the new version of Tantric and Ferreira is happier in Tantric than heís ever been.

"I feel very fortunate to have an 11 year career so far with this band, even though itís been through multiple incarnations," says Ferreira.  "I think this [current band] is definitely by-far the best, most professional, and most talented musically that Iíve ever had the pleasure of playing with. We take each day at a time, we look forward to a tour, and we definitely have a lot of faith in the new record."

The band is out on tour now until mid-September and theyíre hoping to have some serious success with this record because they feel itís the best Tantric record.

"Itís probably going to be the work thatís going to be the most-relatable to a bigger audience," explained Ferreira.  "As far as technical ability that was introduced to the song-writing and the combination of that and what we were able to achieve sonically. Everything lined up perfectly and helped us achieve what I think is our perfect record.

Tantric is currently out on the road with Aranda and Vayden.  Tour dates are below:
