Last year, Boyce Avenue sold over 300,000 singles on iTunes. Much of this success was fueled by ingenious YouTube campaigns where the band was posting video performances of cover tunes. The band's initial goal was to utilize the visual nature of YouTube videos, coupled with their unique approach to covering hit songs, to build their fan base not only domestically but internationally as well. This reach was most recently realized when the band played to over 25,000 fans in only four shows in the Philippines. Similar online stats can be found for viewer ship in Brazil, UK and Asia, among other territories.
As of this writing, Boyce Avenue is the #9 most subscribed artist on YouTube (200K+ subscribers), in between Taylor Swift (#8) and Linkin Park (#10) – with over 100 million views on the site. Additionally, Boyce Avenue has received over 6 million MySpace plays (12,000+ daily average).
Boyce Avenue will begin their first major U.S. tour on June 23rd in Chapel Hill, NC at the Local 506. Shows are already beginning to sell out on this tour, and the buzz is starting to build towards a fever pitch.
The band is comprised of three brothers from Sarasota, FL: Alejandro Manzano (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Fabian Manzano (guitar, background vocals), and Daniel Manzano (bass, background vocals). Their self-produced full-length debut album will be available in the early fall, 2009, which will stay true to their strong acoustic roots and melodic rock sound reminiscent of the Goo Goo Dolls, Angels & Airwaves, Train and Coldplay.
