Third Eye Blind have pushed back the release of their highly anticipated new album Ursa Major to August 18, according to an announcement on the band's website. The album was originally slated for a June 23 release.
As previously reported, Ursa Major is to be one of two albums released by the band in 2009. The second, Ursa Minor, is reportedly a collection of b-sides the band plans to release approximately 6 months after Ursa Major's release. There's been no word if the album's recent delay will push Ursa Minor's release into 2010.
Ursa Major marks the band's first release in over 6 years, since the band released Out of the Vien in 2003. The band has also reportedly been working on the album for over three years. The band is currently on tour playing a string of dates throughout the month of June.
