Super
Hero Squad: The
Infinity Gauntlet
takes the Marvel’s
Super Hero Squad and
again transplants
them into video game
format. The last
game with SHS wasn’t
terrible; the kids
found it
entertaining, and
similarly they’ll
find the new game
entertaining too.
It’s not without its
problems but
Super
Hero Squad: The
Infinity Gauntlet
has some good
qualities.
The story is fairly
similar to the
second season of the
TV show. The
squaddies have a new
villain this go
around with Vanos
with the storyline
coming from a key
Marvel crossover
series. Vanos is
trying to collect
Infinity Stones to
fill up his Infinity
Gauntlet so
essentially he can
rule the universe.
It’s up the Super
Hero Squad to stop
him (of course!)
The good thing about
this title is that
it takes all of the
great qualities from
the show- the humor,
the characters, the
style and they take
it to the video game
format. All of the
voices and the
characters are in
the game and they’re
here how they’re
supposed to be. They
used the voice
talent from the show
in the game and
that’s really the
most important
factor in any
licensed game. They
also made the
difficulty of the
game slightly
tougher and included
the ‘factor’
variable with each
super hero so they
all do different
things in the game
and the gamer has to
use different
characters for
different levels.
The story is great,
the voice talent
here is great, and
the game is fun and
challenging.
There are a few weak
links with this
game. There are a
few glitches in
spots, load time is
too long for what
this is and the
level design is far
from flawless. Also-
the graphics in this
game aren’t nearly
polished enough.
They’re way too
rough around the
edges.
Super
Hero Squad: The
Infinity Gauntlet
is a perfect gift
for any kid that’s a
fan of the show.
They use the voice
talent for the game
and the game is
challenging enough
to be fun and easy
enough to play.
There’s a nice
balance here that’s
perfect for little
ones. If they have a
Nintendo DS it’s
best to get them
that version of the
game, but if they
aren’t big on
portable gaming, the
home console version
is almost as good.
