"Marvel’s Super Hero Squad" is a
decent outing for the Nintendo Wii.
It’s a little bothersome with the
general problems that seem to always
plague this type of game. Licensed
games always feel like they were
rushed to the shelves, so much so to
the point to where you notice that
most of them needed an extra month
or two in development. This is one
of those games.
While it has a great amount of
charm. Especially in visuals and
story. The main examples with this
are with graphics. The character
models look very accurate to how
they are depicted in the TV series,
they sound like them too, but some
of the backgrounds don’t accurately
capture what they do on the show
and/or they just don’t look very
good. The story mode does a good job
of capturing what they do on the TV
show too, but a little bit more
could have been done to deepen the
gameplay experience in the mode.
"Super Hero Squad" is not something
that the kids can pick up and play
right away. It will probably take a
little time for them to get used to
the controls and how to play, but
once adapted to it can be both
challenging and fun for them to play
through. It’s weird having a Marvel
game released from THQ but they did
a decent job with this one. It’s not
an incredible game but for kids who
love the show on Cartoon Network.
They will love this.
