"Marvel’s
"Super Hero Squad" for the DS is a
completely different experience than
on the other console versions.
There’s a definite emphasis on
presentation and visuals on the
other versions of the game, but
gameplay sometimes suffers because
it’s basically just a button mashing
game. On the DS version of the game
the presentation is more than awful,
with the menus all being unsightly
and the sound being kind of bad too.
The graphics aren’t that bad but the
character models could have been
done slightly better.
The gameplay on "Super Hero Squad"
for the DS is a great experience
however. The controls are easy to
pick up but they’re not button
mashing controls. Here a big part of
what you’re doing is popping up your
rival in the game so you can put
more damage to your opponent. It’s
not a tricky system, but it’s not an
easy one either. Most DS games are
easy for kids to pick up and play.
That’s why the system has so much
charm when it comes to games for
little kids. This game isn’t any
different. They should be able to
pick up and play right away.
There’s a lot of potential for this
game to be great in the future.
There will be a sequel to this game
in the future judging by the TV
Show’s growing popularity. The
follow-up will hopefully be more of
a finished product than this one is.
Even though the game isn’t as good
as it could be, it’s still something
young fans of the show will enjoy
and get into.
