DC in the 70's
was a different kind of DC Comics.
It didn't take itself too seriously,
it aimed for kids, and that's really
all it aimed for. Plastic Man is the
perfect example of that. It's goofy,
there's really never much mortal
peril and Plastic Man always seems
like he's having a blast. He's
joined by his girlfriend Penny and
his best friend Hula Hula and he
always manages to match up against
some of the weirdest super villains
around including Weed and The
Clam.... yup...The Clam.
The sound and
picture are decent with this DVD
release. There aren't many cartoons
that were made back then that can
look top notch on DVD or even TV now
without some grainy errors and
that's definitely here too.
Surprisingly it doesn't take
anything away from it, it adds a bit
of nostalgia if it does anything.
The DVD set of
Plastic man includes all 35 episodes
from the series on four discs. It's
not as cool as some of the other DC
entities and this series might be to
cheesy for some, but for most it's
an entertaining DVD release that
will introduce you to a hero that
not a lot of people know about.
