Naughty Bear
isn't an enjoyable
game. It's got
camera problems,
logic problems,
gameplay problems,
and altogether just
problems. The only
thing that it does
well is it shows why
parents should
understand and pay
attention to ESRB
rating systems so
some ignorant parent
doesn't let their
young child play
this game and
develop into a
sociopathic monster.
This game sounded
decent. Even the
cover art made this
game look cool.
But
that couldn't be
further from the
truth.
Without the
meaningless back
story, Naughty Bear
is a sociopath. The
world Naughty Bear
lives in- is
decorated and
colored like a
preschool TV show.
The other teddy
bears that he walks
around and kills
resemble teddy bear
versions of
Teletubbies. Even
the narrator sounds
like the narrator
from the
aforementioned TV
show. Naughty Bear
is well... naughty,
so the other bears
don't like him and
don't invite him to
parties. Because,
you know... he's
kind of the crazy
serial killer of the
community. I mean,
why shouldn’t you
invite the guy who
might kill you to
your party?
So Naughty Bear runs
amuck in what
amounts to be a
toddler TV show. He
goes through the
meagerly constructed
levels stabbing and
maiming the other
bears viciously. The
only favor that 505
Games did in the
violence department
is they made the
Teddy Bears lose
stuffing instead of
blood. It doesn't
make it any less
sick, it's just a
small favor.
The problems with
this game run
rampant- pointless
objectives, terrible
A.I., and even worse
targeting systems,
but the overall
point of the game is
its biggest flaw.
They could have made
something dark with
darker textures,
characters, a
different engine,
and altogether just
a different game.
Instead they went
the way of ironic
dark, and it fell
flat. A lot of
things could have
been done different
with this game.
Really just too many
to mention.
