Madden NFL Arcade
has huge potential for being an
amazing title in the future, it just
wasn’t accomplished with this first
installment of the game.
Madden NFL Arcade
is five-on-five arcade style
football complete with a few
different power-ups and game
changers. In the game, the field is
only 60 yards long, you have four
downs to score a touchdown, and you
start at your own 20. There are no
special teams in the game and the
first person to 30 wins.
The gameplay itself is fun. It’s
slightly addictive even. The lack of
play calling options is a little
frustrating but you can live with
it. Really if there was a
comparison, this game plays like the
first
NFL Blitz,
only slightly better, and it looks a
lot better.
The frustrating
part of this game is the overall
lack of depth. There’s no season
mode, no tournament mode, nothing to
make this a real viable
single-player option. You can play
an exhibition game against the
computer or you can play across
X-Box LIVE. Both are fun, but you
would have liked there to be some
more options to play through.
Madden NFL Arcade
has its problems with game-depth,
but it is an Xbox LIVE title so
that's forgivable. There’s a lot of
fun to be had with this title and
you can really notice the amount of
potential that this game has with
future versions.
Madden NFL Arcade
misses with the first installment
but just barely. If you're not
looking for something serious or
need a break from normal
Madden
this is a great alternative.
