The first two
seasons of
LOST
were outstanding. The characters
were all set up well, the mystery of
the island and all of its
inhabitants were too. The cloud
monster, the polar bears, the
others, the statues, the hatch,
everything they could cram into the
show those first two seasons was
worth watching. Then it got weird…
season three wasn’t the most
exciting thing and season four got a
little too busy. Basically the more
characters they got rid of and
introduced the more
LOST
slumped. Seasons three and four are
both worth watching but they’re not
as good as the first two seasons.
The fifth season of
LOST
however is it’s return to form. If
you stopped watching or you’re just
a fan of the series then
LOST: The
Complete Fifth Season
is something you should check in to
on Blu-Ray.
This season ranks
up there with the first two seasons.
The Dharma Initiative finally comes
into play and although you’re
constantly on a trippy adventure
through time that’s not always easy
to follow ,it’s an immersive
experience. Sawyer and Juliette
develop a relationship. The Oceanic
Six have to make their way back to
the island. The characters remaining
on the island have to deal with a
constant trip through time, and
Benjamin Linus and John Locke
continue their tension-filled
relationship. It’s an interesting
season to be sure and these sixteen
episodes are great.
The Blu-Ray
features on this season of
LOST
are perhaps the best special
features included on any of the
LOST
TV to
Blu-Ray sets. They include "LOST
University" where you can enroll at
online and figure out secrets and
themes of the series. You also get
"LOST 100", where you get a look
back with the cast of the show on
the first 100 episodes. You get all
of this and then you get "LOST on
Location, An Epic Day with Richard
Albert" where you follow around
Nestor Carbonell as he works his
tail off during the Season’s finale.
"Making Up for LOST Time" is a crazy
look at how the cast and crew sort
out the show’s leaps through time.
And "Mysteries of the Universe: The
Dharma Initiative" is a featurette
that builds more mystery into the
Dharma initiative. You also get
bloopers, deleted scenes, and a
couple of audio commentaries with
the special features on
LOST: The
Complete Fifth Season.
It’s not a bare set at all and all
of the bonus features are every bit
as good as the 16 episodes that are
on the set.
LOST: The
Complete Fifth Season
is the perfect gift to give any
LOST
fanatic this holiday season. It sets
up the final season of the show
perfectly and we learn more about
the main characters on the show as
well as several other mysteries
surrounding the island.
