Lost is a tricky
show. It's not for everyone, and if
someone decides that it is for them
they can't just start watching the
show no matter how hard ABC has
tried to summarize it and get more
people into it. It's not as hot as
it was five years ago when the show
first started, but it's still a very
relevant, viable thing in people's
lives and conversations.
The no brainer
way to start Lost if you haven't
already is on Blu-Ray. If you don't
have a player, get one just to start
watching the show. The island looks
10x more vibrant and colorful on Blu-Ray
than it does on standard television
or even on DVD. If you're starting
Lost, you might as well start with
the Blu-Ray. Some people say it
doesn't make a difference, but for a
show like Lost it makes all the
difference in the world. An island
that's supposed to seem vast and
mysterious looks warmer and more
vibrant in 1080p. You'd expect it to
do so, but when you actually see the
difference you'll know and see the
difference. The sound on the Blu-Ray
is also the way to go, the DTS 5.1
master is excellent throughout every
episode.
Lost follows a
ton of characters and goes in about
a million different directions. It's
a show that has to be started from
the beginning and it's a show that
you can totally encapsulate yourself
into. Matthew Fox and the rest of
the cast on the show all do great
jobs with every episode of the show
and the writers have really gone
above and beyond to tie everything
into an enormous storyline. Start
watching Lost, and start with it on Blu-Ray, you won't regret it.
The first two
seasons just came out on the format
and they are worth checking out.
Both sets come with 7 discs, (6 for
the show and 1 full of bonus
features.) The Blu-Ray's also have a cool feature
that lets you jump into the show and
even if you quit mid episode and
don't watch again for a week, you'll
go right back to the place you were.
With all of the features and the
quality of Blu-Ray, it's the way
that Lost was mean to be enjoyed.
