Traveler’s Tales’ Lego games have
made Batman, Star Wars, and Indiana
Jones licenses more accessible to
kids with their games. The violence
has been toned down and the adult
content removed to make some of the
stories great stories for kids to
play through.
In their
latest game, Lego Indiana Jones 2:
The Adventure Continues, the focus
is still on the kids, it’s not
overdeveloped, and there’s a strong
emphasis on simple tasks like going
through a series of different
enemies and collecting objects.
This game isn’t
drastically different from the first
Lego Indiana Jones game, if anything
it’s less deep. Te levels featuring
the old movies don’t take long to
complete at all and although the new
movie is fun to play through it too
feels a little short. But again, you
have to consider who this was
developed for and kids tend to stay
on the same game collecting items,
etc. for a longer period of time.
There’s a new
feature in the game where you bild
levels and this is fun to get in
there and really work with. The
games deeper because it’s there, but
the mode loses points because the
selection is limited and you can’t
share them online.
Lego Indiana Jones 2
is another nice addition to the Lego
franchises. You’d like to see both
parties go different ways after this
though. I’d like to see a more
mature Indiana Jones game and I’d
like to see the Lego franchise
tackle a different license. Still,
for your little ones who aren’t big
enough to watch all of the movies
yet this is a good way for them to
experience those stories in a child
friendly game.
