A lot
of movies have been
made and remade in
Hollywood. It’s
refreshing when an
original movie comes
along and tells a
fresh and exciting
story. You’ve never
seen a movie like
Legion
before and that’s a
good thing.
The
story goes like
this… The first time
God lost faith in
humanity he brought
a flood and had them
start over. Instead
of a flood, in
Legion
he just brings about
a mass of demons to
destroy humanity and
rid the world of
human beings.
Everyone in Heaven
went along with
God’s plans and
obeyed him. Except
one. Michael was the
first to bow down
and love man the way
that God loved man.
When God lost his
faith in man and
gave an order to
Michael. Michael
didn’t obey because
he didn’t lose
faith. Instead he
fell from Heaven and
readied a few people
at a truck stop to
save a woman and her
baby… so that baby
could lead mankind
out of the mess and
to survival.
This
is director Scott
Stewart’s six year
project. It’s his
creation and his
dream to bring this
movie to life. He
did it
extraordinarily
well. He did an
amazing job
assembling his cast
getting Paul Bettany
to play the part of
Michael and getting
Dennis Quaid to play
the part of the old
bitter Truck stop
owner Bob Hanson. He
also very wisely
casted Lucas Black
to play Hanson’s son
Jeep and Adrianne
Palicki to play
Charlie, the
pregnant woman who’s
baby is the only
hope that humanity
has to survive.
Supporting roles are
filled out by Tyrese
Gibson and Charles
Dutton and the cast
couldn’t have been
assembled better for
this movie. The cast
was great, and the
story was great, but
the direction, the
filmography, and the
special effects are
the biggest strength
of
Legion.
Stewart did a great
job assembling a
crew that knew what
it was doing. With a
few stunts, some
green screens, and
some animatronics,
everything looks
fantastic.
Legion’s
Blu-Ray release
features a couple of
making of
featurettes that
interview the cast
and the special
effects crew. The
featurettes talk
about how they did
some of the shots in
the movie and also
talks about each
actor/character in
the movie. There’s
nothing amazing
about the extras but
they are good
enough.
Legion
covers everything
you want in a movie.
It has a great
story, some great
actors, and some
amazing camera work.
There’s not a lot
that Stewart or the
rest of the group
that made this movie
could have done
better. If you’re
into scary movies
and original movies
this is a flick
you’ll want to check
out.
