If you've ever considered yourself a history buff of any kind then HBO's original mini-series John Adams is for you. This show is amazing, and is possibly the best screen (TV or movie) adaptation of American history ever made.

Paul Giamatti plays John Adams, our nation's second president and one that is either forgotten or ridiculed in history books. Adams played an extremely crucial part of our history as a country on a multitude of fronts and this mini-series chronicles them all. Everything from him being a lawyer and defending British soldiers, to him being a foreign ambassador, to Vice President, and to President. This show chronicles the life of Adams and his family members and sheds a new light on the President that probably not many have seen. Giamatti is amazing in his role as John Adams and Laura Linney is equally inspiring as his wife Abigail Adams. More than just those two main characters, the historical figures in the movie are all casted accordingly and presented extremely well. You see everyone in here- George Washington (played by David Morse, could make a movie as George Washington), Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, and many more.

John Adams is amazing piece of art and history. The Blu-Ray features get really cool with pop-up historical facts during the show and the audio/video of the show is poignant. You probably know all of the history that can be learned from the show if you're really into history but watching everything unfold is amazing. John Adams should definitely be picked up on Blu-Ray or DVD if you missed the show on HBO because it's an awe-inspiring collaboration between drama and fact that can be enjoyed throughout.
