Hannah Montana
The Movie drew one comparison
thought to mind. That was From
Justin to Kelly, The American Idol
Movie…. Except we’ve gotten to the
point in our culture from American
Idol and so much focus on media and
marketing on the tween market that
this movie has become acceptable to
make and acceptable to buy. The
thing of this is that although the
acting is good for the most part,
and I’ll admit to laughing in
spaces, you felt kind of guilty
watching it. Okay that's probably
because I'm a 25 year old man, but
we'll move on from here so I can
maintain my pride.
There’s a
reason why little girls love Hannah
Montana, and that’s part because
it’s funny and because it’s geared
to them, and it’s also part because
it allows them to dream and know
that they can live a dream and be
anything they want to be and do
anything they want to do. It doesn’t
pass along how hard you have to work
to get there but it does most
definitely say you can get there.
And that’s admirable. More admirable
than that is that the movie’s main
message tackles that subject pretty
well. In the movie Miley has become
obsessed with being Hannah and has
made it all about her and being
famous. She has to go home with her
father and find her head in the
movie- that’s what the film is
about, Miley not forgetting where
she came from and why she’s there.
It’s actually a well written movie.
As far as
acting goes- Miley Cyrus is a good
actress at this point. You can
always see that she’s in character.
Same goes with Emily Osmett, and
even Billy Ray. You can’t say the
same for all of the actors in the
movie- but you can definitely say
that for the main characters.
The Blu-Ray
version of the film is your best bet
as with all Disney movies at this
point. A few extras, superior sound
and picture, and a DVD copy of the
film alongside a digital copy is
easily your best value. You have to
applaud Disney on the packaging of
it's materials recently with this
bundle. I'm a fan.
Hannah Montana:
The Movie is better than
anticipated. Every little girl under
the age of 14 is going to love this
movie and that’s who it was meant
for. There’s nothing wrong with
that.
