Halo
Reach
is developer
Bungie’s last game
for the franchise.
Halo
will continue for
Microsoft, but with
a different
developer at the
helm. Even though
this is
Bungie’s last
Halo
game, it’s a game
that will be played
for years to come
and for once I can
say with certainty
that the latest
Halo
game is the best
Halo
game.
Halo
Reach
is a prequel to the
three Master Chief
Halo
games. The game
takes place on the
planet Reach, which
is a major planet
for the human
existence. When the
planet gets invaded
by the covenant,
it’s up to you to
fight them back and
save the planet. By
you I don’t mean
Master Chief. I
literally mean
‘you.’ In this game
you are the main
character in the
game. You’re an
unknown character
that you customize
simply known as
Noble 6 to the Noble
Spartan team. You
can customize a
crazy amount of
features with your
character including
gear, armor, armor
color, and even the
voice. It’s just one
of the many deep
features in
Halo
Reach.
Customization is a
key cog for
Halo
Reach,
mostly in the
multiplayer modes,
but being able to
design your
character and see
him (or her) in cut
scenes and in action
is pretty cool. The
customization gives
the game lasting
appeal with the
multiplayer modes
but just as
impressive as its
lasting appeal
Halo
Reach
makes a hell of a
first impression.
The sound is
perfect; it always
is with
Halo
games. But the
visuals are
incredible. The
covenant soldiers
have undergone some
key changes too.
They are more
detailed than ever
and when you take
that with Reach’s
beautiful
environments. This
is the best looking
Halo
game out there. It’s
a bit odd how
different
ODST
looked from the
other
Halo
games due to it’s
urban environments,
but this game looks
like the
Halo
we’re used to just
updated.
Halo
Reach
is the perfect
ending for Bungie’s
work on the
franchise. It’s the
deepest game of the
franchise with tons
of customization in
the game and it
looks and sounds
better than ever.
Even the story is
one of the best
every with some big
surprises at the
end.
Halo
Reach
is the best
Halo
game out there, and
that’s saying
something after some
incredible titles
have been released.
It’ll be interesting
to see what happens
from here, but we
can definitely say
that Bungie did
their work.
