It seems like
the folks at Activision are going to
shovel out games every four months.
It seems that the plan is to strike
while the iron is hot. And strike
they are with their second
band-specific game in Guitar Hero:
Metallica.
What's the most
appealing thing about having a
Metallica-centric game if you're
Activision? Other than they have a
hardcore group of die-hard fans they
also one of the biggest... duh. But
the hardcore group of fans is where
this game will really resonate. Not
only does this give you the
opportunity to play on your favorite
Metallica tracks. There are TONS of
bonus items that you can unlock
throughout the game like pop-up song
facts, a few really cool modes, and
some backstage videos and photos
that are incredibly cool.
The best part
about the game is the song selection
that it offers. Most of the band's
best songs are in the game and every
key song is in there too. It's no
secret that metal songs are the most
fun songs to play with Guitar Hero.
This installment of Guitar Hero
offers up tons of songs from the
best Metal band ever and across
every difficulty the songs play
awesome. It will be harder for
beginners to
pick up
on the game if they're playing on a
difficulty that's above them.
Overall this is probably the hardest
Guitar Hero game, because of the top
tier of songs, but it's still very
playable.
With Guitar Hero:
World Tour it didn't really feel
like guitar hero. It felt like they
were trying to match Rock Band. For
some reason, it worked but it didn't
feel right. With Guitar Hero:
Metallica the game's edge that it
had over Rock Band is back. Maybe
it's because they chose a band that
connects with the video game
generation a little bit better than
Aerosmith. Whatever it is Guitar
Hero is back with Guitar Hero:
Metallica.
