The Short: There’s not much to gripe about with Get Him to the Greek. It’s a fun buddy comedy that you’ll watch over and over again throughout the years. It’s loaded with extras and great performances by Brand and Jonah Hill make it fun to watch again and again.

Jonah Hill and Russell Brand star in Get Him to the Greek. It’s the tale of a young music executive given the task of getting rock’s most unpredictable and dangerous man- Aldous Snow to the Greek Theatre for a 10th Anniversary concert.

The music business is failing and in Get Him to the Greek, the label where Aaron Green (Jonah Hill) works is failing too. In a big staff meeting where everyone is coming up with ideas to increase revenue, Green throws out the idea of working with Aldous Snow (Russell Brand) and the 10th Anniversary of an epic show he did at the Greek Theatre. Things fall into place and Aldous agrees to do the show, his in three years after a downward spiral into booze and pills.

So Aaron has to take his idea to fruition. He gets to fly to London to get Snow and take him to the Greek Theatre in L.A... It sounds like an easy job, but Snow is a booze-hounding, drug hording, self-destructive rock star whose compulsive stupidity will go no bounds to make Aaron’s job of delivering the talent to the venue one of his most difficult tasks ever.

Jonah Hill and Russell Brand are great in the two main roles of the film. We’ve seen both in supporting roles through most of their careers, so it’s great when they both get assigned to the front and are given the opportunity to shine. Both of them do in Get Him to the Greek. Hill’s talent really shines through in the movie with the constant drubbing he has to take from Aldous Snow. Aaron knows what’s at stake with his job, so he goes to no bounds to get Snow to the Greek Theatre. Being tortured with ridiculous task after ridiculous task, Hill plays Aaron perfectly while Brand delivers Snow as an innocent devil who makes bad choices in an innocent way. Both characters are great and it’s hard to think that the idea for this movie came from another movie (Forgetting Sarah Marshall.)

The Blu-ray version of this disc is loaded with extras too. You get some good documentaries, the original music videos for all of the songs on the movie. You also get one of the funniest gag scenes ever, and TONS of deleted and alternate scenes. You even get the ability to stream one of three different movies for free on your internet connected Blu-ray player. The Blu-ray also comes with a digital copy of the movie.
