What would happen if everyone in the
world got a glimpse of their future
six months from right now? What
would happen if while everyone was
having these ‘visions’ the entire
world blacked out for over two
minutes? Now things are getting
crazy. That’s what happens in ABC
Studios’
Flashforward.
New to DVD is the first part of the
first season,
Flashforward:
Season One, Pt. 1.
Flashforward
follows a group of characters that
are intertwined since the blackout.
The main character in the series is
FBI Agent Mark Binford, played by
Joseph Fines. Binford has a vision
of himself investigating the
blackout six months from the event.
His vision is a little hazy but he
has a huge bulletin board containing
information about the blackout that
has clues and pictures. Therefore,
he gets to be point man on the
investigation at the FBI California
office. His vision is most important
to the series because as the show
progresses, Mark and his partner
Demetri find clues and pictures from
the ‘mosaic’ board in Binford’s
office. All of the other characters
are key to the story too, but
Binford is what you’re following on
the show most of the time. The
interesting thing about watching the
series is getting to see each
characters vision and then getting
to know them in the first few
episodes. Some embrace their future
and some fight it. It’s interesting
to watch how the characters get to
where they’re at to where they’re
going.
Flashforward
is a lot like
Lost.
Especially with the series premiere.
The first episode is outstanding. No
episode on this DVD is as good as
that first episode. The chaos that
you see unfold and the reaction from
all of the main characters is
fascinating to watch. After that
first episode things can get
stagnant. There are probably two
episodes on this set that are like
that. While most of the episodes are
awesome, those two bring things down
a little bit. It’s all about
movement and progress in a show like
this and the two episodes that don’t
really progress anything are hard to
watch.
This is just
the first part of the first season.
These are the only episodes that
have been on TV so far. The rest of
the season will start in March and
end in May. If you missed watching
these episodes and you haven’t
gotten into
Flashforward
yet, you
definitely should. This two-disc DVD
set is a great way to do that.
