The long awaited return of Fight
Night has come to Xbox 360 and
Playstation 3. It was worth it. Well
worth it. As far as boxing games go,
this is the best boxing simulation
game ever made and arguably it could
be the best boxing game to be
released period. We won't dive into
that too much, but what you do need
to know that Fight Night Round 4 is
an amazing gaming experience.
Compared to Fight Night Round 3,
Round 4 capitalizes. Round 3 was
good, Round 4 is better. That's
simply said. The control system is
better with the new 'Total Punch
Control System.' You use your right
control stick to fire jabs,
uppercuts, and hooks. You can use
the right button to add some power
and haymaker those punches and
there's one button that is your
'Signature Punch' button. On top of
that you dodge, block, and counter
with your defense techniques. It
sounds simple but it feels and looks
amazing.
Individually you'll be playing
Legacy mode the most in the game.
Basically you take a fighter,
created or existing, and you run
that fighter through the ranks of
beginner on to becoming a legend.
The mode is pretty fun to get
through. Basically you challenge
fighters that are above you and
occasionally get challenged by those
beneath you until you climb your way
up the ladder in popularity,
ranking, pound-for-pound ranking,
and after a while you're legend
ranking. Legacy mode isn't a bad
'career' mode. It's not the deepest
thing ever but it's fun.
With online play you'll rarely ware
out a game anymore. That's easily
the best thing about Fight Night
Round 4. After you get through the
Legacy mode you'll want something
else to do- Online World
Championships are awesome. More and
more people sign up every day and it
has the makings to be one of the
best online features on Xbox LIVE or
on Sony's PS3 network.
With an awesome roster of legendary
fighters, a great presentation
across the board, and a video-game
boxing experience that could be the
best ever, Fight Night Round 4 is
easily something that you should
pick up and check out.
