Unedited and
uncensored, Family
Guy Volume 8 has hit
the shelves and fans
of the series
couldn’t be happier.
The set is filled
with extras that
every fan should
appreciate and is
also loaded with
extra scenes in each
show that are aired
the way they were
intended to be. This
set of discs isn’t
an amazing one in
terms of commentary,
deleted scenes, or
just the ‘normal’
episodes, but
collectively it’s a
solid set that will
leave Family Guy
fans satisfied.
The good is easy;
there are several
great episodes in
this volume,
including a fan
favorite- “Road to
the Multi-verse”
which has Stewie and
Brian on another
great adventure- but
this time through
multiple dimensions.
It’s one of the best
episodes that this
team has made just
for its creativity,
and it’s a Family
Guy favorite.
The extra features
good but not great.
There's still plenty
of things for you to
dig through. There’s
a karaoke feature
that collects songs
from all of the
seasons and puts
them in one feature.
There’s also a
behind the scenes
look at the making
of “Road to the
Multi-verse” and
there are several
commentaries (though
not on every
episode) for you to
watch, listen, and
enjoy.
Ranking the top five
episodes from the
volume:
1.
"Road
to the Multi-verse":
Stewie and Brian get
launched into
multiple dimensions
and try to find
their way home. The
biggest pops here
come from the
different forms of
animation in some of
the dimensions.
2.
"FOX-y Lady": While
not an amazing
episode the amount
of extra content in
this episode
compared to the
original, broadcast
episode is insane.
It’s a good episode
with lots of extra
content and that’s
why it hits number
two here.
3.
"Brian’s
Got a Brand New
Bag": As the series
progresses, Brian
gets picked on by
the family more and
more. He’s slowly
becoming the grown
up version of Meg.
In this episode,
Brian falls for an
older woman… she’s
even older than he
is in dog years…
she’s a much older
woman.
4.
"Hannah
Banana": This series
has always made fun
of Disney, and they
finally conquered
their latest/biggest
craze. There are
several over the
top, just wrong,
moments, but that’s
what Family Guy’s
about.
5.
"Spies
Reminiscent of Us":
Dan Aykroyd and
Chevy Chase guest
star in an episode
that features Brian
and Stewie
reenacting the hit
movie from the 80’s.
Lots of hilarious
moments and it was
cool that Aykroyd
and Chase were part
of the show.
