Family Guy’s
parodies of the
Star Wars
franchise didn’t just stop with
Blue Harvest,
they’ve done a follow up with
Something Something
Something Dark Side.
Blue Harvest was okay for a Family
Guy special, but the laughs weren’t
as abundant as a normal Family Guy
and moved a little too slow. Those
two problems have been fixed with
Something Something
Something Darka Side,
which isn’t just abundantly more
entertaining than
Blue Harvest,
it’s better animated, it’s got more
laughs, and the action moves better.
In
Blue Harvest
they followed the first
Star Wars
movie a little too close. We had to
go through everything in the movie
and it made jokes about the movie
and not much else. In this special
they make fun of everything and ad
some
Family Guy
insider jokes as well. After
watching the special eight times in
two days it’s officially my favorite
Family Guy and it will likely become
one of your favorites as well.
The Blu-Ray packaging of this
release is decent but not stellar.
The artwork which was painted (not
digital) like the original
Star Wars
posters, is awesome. And not only do
you get a Blu-Ray copy of the movie,
you also get a Digital Copy.
As for the bonus
features, they have a short piece on
the making of the poster (that’s how
I knew that little tidbit of
information) and they also have some
table reads and hilarious commentary
tied into the movie. The key bonus
feature is the table read from the
upcoming Episode VI, where you get
to hear a few lines of dialogue with
the writers and voices. If any
indication of the bonus feature, the
next installment of this is going to
be just as funny.
It’s great to have this on Blu-Ray.
The picture's okay but not really
noticeable. The sound however,
really takes a step up. This
Star Wars
parody
from the
series is hilarious and I’m looking
forward to the sequel.
