In
Drive
Angry,
Nicolas Cage stars
as Milton, a man out
of hell looking for
revenge. Evidently
when you escape from
hell you look and
dress exactly like
Chad Kroeger from
Nickelback. I think
Nicolas Cage did
the same thing with
The
Sorcerer’s
Apprentice,
but he makes the
rock star face with
the look here more
than in that movie.
Despite Cage’s less
than awesome
appearance he
delivers a good
performance and this
movie written by
Todd Farmer and
Patrick Lussier and
directed by Lussier
proves to be worth a
watch in 3D and 2D
Blu-ray.
Drive
Angry
has Nicolas Cage
playing the role of
Milton. Milton is an
escapee from hell
that’s out to avenge
the murder of his
daughter and save
his baby
granddaughter from a
cult. Milton picks
up waitress Piper
(Jessica Heard)
along the way and
together they go on
a high speed blood
bath being followed
by numerous law
enforcement agencies
and The Accountant
(William Fichtner),
a demon from hell
sent to take Milton
back to the
underworld.
Drive
Angry
is the perfect movie
for any guy out
there. It’s got lots
of violence, some
very sexy moments,
and some badass
revenge moments.
Drive
Angry
was directed by
Patrick Lussier and
it’s his direction
that stands out with
the film. The 3D
effects that they
added intentionally
for the movie are
awesome and well
done, but they don’t
seem forced.
Lussier’s work is
awesome. It’s
stylish when it
needs to be, it’s
sexy when it needs
to be, and his
action scenes are
flat-out
spectacular. Lussier
did a great job both
writing and
directing the movie.
Combined with solid
acting from his two
main characters
(Cage and Heard),
Drive
Angry
is awesome to watch
through. Sure there
are moments that
just aren’t
believable and there
are some plot
oddities but it’s
still a blast to
watch through and
enjoy.
Drive
Angry
comes with some cool
Blu-ray features
including some
decent BD Live
connectivity. It
features a great
commentary from
Lussier and co. on
the movie and then
it also features
Access: Drive Angry,
which is Summit Home
Entertainment’s
double movie viewing
experience that
features a kill
counter and some
great insight from
cast and crew.
Drive
Angry
is a cool movie for
the red-blooded
American male. Lots
of violence,
beautiful women, and
some badass cars
give it a stylish
appeal on the
surface, but good
acting and great
direction in both 3D
and 2D formats give
it a lasting appeal.
