Dane Cook’s
Isolated Incident
is a decent enough special from lots
of people’s favorite comic and a
lot’s of people’s most annoying
comic.
His comedy’s not
for everyone. It gets really dark
(and really funny) in places and his
delivery is too fast paced for a lot
of people too. I have to admit I
don’t always like what he does but I
can’t deny that he’s pretty damn
smart. He’s the first person to
embrace social networking into his
routine and outside of it, he’s more
relatable to the new generation of
American than any other comic and he
constantly tries to evolve in what
he does with his specials and his
routine.
A good example of
that is the filmography of this
special. It has a more cinematic
approach to it than any other
special that I’ve seen in recent
years and while that has it’s
negatives and it’s positives you
have to appreciate that he did it.
The bonus
features on the DVD include an
interview with Dane for the special
that’s both revealing and humor and
a few other things as well that are
pretty standard.
Dane Cook’s
Isolated Incident
has its ups and it’s downs and
although people either love him or
hate him everybody will get at least
one laugh out of this special.
