HBO’s Flight of
the Conchords takes it’s second lap
with another ten episodes on DVD
with season two hitting shelves. The
show is still hilarious, the music
is still good, and the music videos
make the show.
The guys are
back as surviving musicians in New
York and so is Murray… the band’s
diplomat manager, and Claire… their
stalker. All of the key components
of the first season are back with
the second season and surprisingly
enough it’s still funny.
The second
season sees similar story lines as
story one- weird New Zealand jokes
and plots (the two episodes about
the prime minister of New Zealand
coming to visit… hilarious), dating
episodes, and episodes about the
guys being poor are here in 10
episodes of glory. The funniest
episode though- had to be when Greg
started a gang because he sang a
song dissing every famous rapper in
a public library. He feared that one
would retaliate… it never happened.
They just ended up kicking a kid in
the ass that was grafiting a wall of
the elderly Korean couple’s store…
who happened to also be in the gang.
So the show is
funny but the extras on this DVD
suck. You can’t just pop in the disc
and play music videos and that’s
definitely something that’s missing.
There are a few other funny things
to go with bonus features but the
disc set is actually pretty bare.
Still, the show on it’s own is as
funny as it gets and makes season
two worth the purchase.
