Clash of the
Titans
has
made it’s way on Blu-Ray
with an exclusive
alternate ending,
Maximum Movie Mode
and really more
bonus features than
you’ll know what to
do with. It’s a
great movie that
looks amazing on the
Blu-Ray format and
WB delivered this
disc with a ton of
extra material that
makes it a must for
people who enjoyed
this updated
classic.
Director Louis
Leterrier did an
amazing job with
this film. You
really couldn’t ask
for a better job
with a remake. He
paid homage to the
original classic and
he did a tremendous
job incorporating
all of the new
special effects and
capabilities. He’s
teamed up here with
Sam Worthington who
is pretty much the
ultimate badass and
is perfect as
Perseus. From
Worthington as
Perseus to Liam
Neeson as Zeus,
Clash
of the Titans
is perfectly casted
and directed
supremely.
If
you don’t know the
story of
Clash
of Titans,
it’s pretty simple.
Man is tired of the
Gods being so
fickle. They control
everything and take
away everything for
stupid reasons, and
mankind has grown
tired of the
routine. So finally,
they take a stand.
Only… they might not
being giving the
Gods enough credit.
‘Let’s take down
Zeus! Wait… he
controls everything
and can punish us
severely with Hates
and the other Gods…
we might not have
thought this
through!’ When Hates
crashes a party and
reveals Perseus as a
demigod and sets an
ultimatum for
releasing the Kraken
and laying waste to
the city, the people
begin to panic. With
the aid of a few
good soldiers,
Perseus sets out on
the impossible task
to find a way to
destroy the Kraken.
The movie is
amazing. As noted
before Louis
Leterrier did an
incredible job with
direction. You
really couldn’t have
had somebody do a
better job with the
exception of
possibly Peter
Jackson. The way he
depicted the Greek
mythology with all
of his characters
and the different
locations was
awesome. All of the
actors are well
casted as well, but
this is Leterrier’s
movie and he did an
incredible job with
it.
This Blu-Ray is full
of extras. The
alternate ending is
here and the good
news is it’s a
polished ending and
not a rough cut. It
does give you an
alternate ending,
albeit a weird one.
Clearly they made
the correct choice
with the ending they
chose- I will say
that without
spoiling the
feature. The Maximum
Movie Mode on the
film isn’t as cool
as some of the
other’s that I’ve
seen but it is
decent and it does a
good job of
providing you with
all of the ins and
outs of making the
movie, and it is
incredibly detailed.
All of the focus ins
other than the
Maximum Movie Mode
are cool too,
including a good
look at making
Medusa that we’ve
seen on the bonus
features of Ninja’s
Assassin.
Clash
of the Titans
is definitely worth
picking up if you
liked the movie.
There are tons of
great extras to
check out and the
feature is
outstanding. They
couldn’t have done a
better job with a
remake than they did
with
Clash
of the Titans.
It puts some of the
other more recent
remakes to shame and
it ends up being a
fun two hour jaunt
with some pissed off
mortals.
