THQ rolls out another Cars game in
Cars Race O Rama. It’s
basically the same formula that the
publisher has used on previous
efforts. Use the characters to build
a story of some kind and let kids
race as their favorite in the world
that they love. Yes, they’ve
probably pushed out a few too many
titles when it comes to the Cars
franchise, but little kids love
them. That’s who this game is aimed
for so you have to know that not a
lot of work is going to be put in
polishing the game to a refined
state. It needs to look and act like
a kids game and that’s what It does.
It’s not anything impressive in that
regard- you get to race as Lighting
McQueen, but again… that’s what it’s
meant to be. The game loses some
major points with sound work. I will
say that. The character voices
weren’t even close to what they were
in the original movie and the music
selection is weaker in this game
than it has been in any Cars game to
date. That’s really the only thing
to get irritated about. Cars
Race O Rama is a fun game on
both the portable and console
versions. You would like to see some
new stories elaborate that are a
little more developed from here on
out but this game does what it’s
supposed to for its young
demographic.
