Call
of Duty Modern
Warfare 3
backs up what the
past two titles have
started. It’s not
perfect and it’s not
without its flaws
but it’s got plenty
to offer for fans of
first person
shooters and fans of
the
Call
of Duty
franchise.
As
far as campaigns go,
I’d say it’s a step
below
Call
of Duty: Black Ops
and
even
Call
of Duty: Modern
Warfare 2.
But with multiplayer
and the campaigns
added into the
equation,
Call
of Duty: Modern
Warfare 3
is
the best CoD game
yet.
As
far as the
Modern Warfare
storyline goes, this
title picks up where
the last one dropped
off. All hell has
broken loose in the
world. Makarov lives
and it’s up to
Price, Soap, Frost,
Nikolai, and a few
new allies who are
out to catch him. To
find Makarov you
chase leads and
information from
London, France,
Somalia and the U.S.
The areas aren’t as
amazing as CoD2’s
Washington D.C.
levels but they’re
still pretty
amazing. The London
and the other few
Europe levels are
fabulous.
The campaign is fun;
it’s easy to get
through on the
bottom three
difficulties and a
royal pain to get
through the hardest
difficulty. That’s
standard CoD stuff
and what that’s
always been like.
The production
values across the
board here are
fantastic as you’d
expect them to be.
Voice acting,
graphics, and sound
are all spot on
amazing and make the
story what it is.
There’s nothing
over-the-top
shocking or
remarkable to watch
like there was in
the first two games,
they did just about
what they could do
there, but there’s
plenty of huge
explosions and great
experiences to dive
into when you’re
adrenaline is pumped
up into the
campaign.
Of
course outside of
the campaign, the
real reason millions
and millions of
people buy the
Call
of Duty
games is for the
multiplayer. The
London and European
levels turn into
awesome multiplayer
maps. Even the
African levels-
levels that look
somewhat like the
CoD norm by now are
fantastic
multi-player maps.
The typical game
modes are here too
with capture the
flag, team, and
free-for-all modes.
The settings and the
Call of Duty Elite
integration make the
multiplayer version
of Cod3 the best yet
and yes the biggest
reason to bite the
bullet and buy the
game.
Call
of Duty Modern
Warfare 3
doesn’t have the
most amazing
campaign, but it’s
still good and the
storyline that we’ve
invested some
serious time into
over the past two
games progresses
nicely. The
multiplayer options
and elite
integration combined
with that decent
campaign push this
CoD game over the
top above the
previous outings.
