Since the old days where everybody
hunted on Oregon Trail on the Apple
IIGS for hours to the Nintendo
Classic Duck Hunt, hunting games of
held a very special but somewhat
isolated place in the gamers world.
They get released, just not to rave
reviews or big amounts of attention.
Cabela’s Big Game Hunter 2010 is the
first hunting game that I’ve played
in years that actually got my
attention.
In the game you hunt in different
environments and settings. In each
level you go on five or six
different hunts for different
animals. You try and make a clan
shot and you get a metal and move
on. You’re trying to gain experience
so you can keep unlocking levels in
different areas across the world.
That’s the goal of the game but what
I’m impressed about the game is the
attention to detail.
The environments on this game are
beautiful. They’re plush with some
great textures. Terrain of the
environments fit the levels and the
sound effect work is impressive too.
When it comes to presentation this
game gets a big gold star.
There’s not a lot of replay ability
here though, I will say that. It’s
not going to take you a long time to
get through the game and walking
from area to area to shoot an animal
every 2 minutes can get kind of
ridiculous. Still it’s a hunting
game and I suffices for what it is
and it’s pretty damn fun.
